It's round two tonight for Doc's battle of the bands! Psychedelic House of Funk, Molasses Onassis, and One Side Later will be throwing down and jamming out with some good 'ol fashion, funky live music. It's a 21+ event so bring your ID and don't forget to vote for your favorite band at the end of the night! The battle of the band series runs every Thursday at Doc's for the rest of the semester. Hope to see you all out there!

Every Sunday, egos are crushed and legends are born at Doc's Sunday Trivia Brawl. Come and play for free, solo or with a team, and show off your command of all knowledge trivial. Win, and split up a a $50 Doc's gift certificate on booze, food, or merchandise.

Every game is six rounds of trivia questions on a wide variety of topics in pop culture, science, history, and current events. Every tenth question is part of our inadvertent quest to discriminate against the deaf, and has players listening to a song and attempting to identify its title, band, and album. The sixth round is a special visual aid round in which the blind are instead at an unfair disadvantage. Team signup starts at 9pm, and unless we go into a Sudden Death Lightning Bloodfeud Overtime Round (of Death), the game tends to wrap up at about 11pm.

These two rock bands will be returning to Muncie to rock the stage at Doc's for the first time in 2011. About the bands:

Ultraviolet Hippopotamus is a six piece rock band from Grand Rapids, Michigan whose strength in original compositions and ability in effortlessly flow from one genre to another has made them a captivating force in the midwest music scene.

Drawing on influences from the likes of Phish, Herbie Hancock, Umphreys McGee, and Wilco, a Strange Arrangement show will take an audience through several different musical genres touching upon jazz, funk, rockabilly, soul, and progressive and psychedelic rock.
